my vision

To create quality hand crafted items.

I have converted the space underneath my house into a workshop/studio in the hope of bringing my ideas to life.

My aim is to create unique pieces of art that can also be used as everyday objects.

Items in your home that create discussion or purely just a pleasure to look at.

I currently have an interest in coffee tables to which I am exploring the possibilities of resin with wood.

I also have an interest in outdoor sculpture and lighting and look forward to making these ideas a reality.

“When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade”

I have always wondered what it would be like to follow a passion and try to make a living out of it, unfortunately only now due to unfortunate circumstances has it given me this chance to give it a go.
It will remain a part time project whilst I’m a full time parent, but I hope it may grow into something full time once my kids reach school age in a few years time.
Like what you see? please visit my gallery, some items can be customised, tables can have pre made legs or more intricate legs made by myself in various colours.
Any questions at all please don’t hesitate to contact me haydencordes32@gmail.com or 0422400717
If you see something you like, a viewing can be easily arranged.

MY work

All items are hand made by myself using quality materials that are made in Australia.

I support small business and try to use them where possible.

All pieces are unique and no two are the same.

I would love any suggestions and feedback you may have, please contact me at haydencordes32@gmail.com

My Story.

MY NAME IS hayden cordes

I grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand.

After graduating from art school with a Bachelor of Design in 2001, I decided to see the world.

I did so for 6 years living and traveling all around the globe till deciding to settle down in Melbourne, Australia, 2007.

I decided to learn a trade and got qualified as an industrial refrigeration mechanic, where I continued to work for the same company for the next 13 years.

Until tragedy struck my family and my fiancés life was cut short at age 40 in 2020.

We had two little girls aged 1 and 3 at the time, our whole world was turned upside down and our lives had changed forever.

I then decided to stop work and raise my daughters full time.

This led me to re visit my love for craft and design, it not only became something I could do at home when I had my brief moments of time to myself but it also gave me a release of the pressures of life that had been forced onto me, it also gave me an escape from navigating my way through the grief process.

I love a good project and so this idea was born.

Its going to be slow progress for a while, but I’m really looking forward to see what this evolves into.

Thanks for visiting my website, I hope you like my creations.

Please forward this on to anyone you feel would be interested.

I dedicate this project to Cathie.
